FL Studio Leveling your mix.

Most People Don't Know That Gain Staging
Is very Important Part Of Mixing Your Music.

Today I'm going to tell you how to level your music. This is my first blog i will improve it later with pictures and stuff. when it comes to balancing a mix, the first thing i use to do when i was a beginner was turn all my sounds completely down until i could not hear any sounds. then i would bring up the kicks until it was around - 9db in volume. (remember when dealing with db the lower the number the louder it is, 0db is the loudest never go over 0db its bad for your audio, the higher the number the lower the volume for example -25db). Then we bring up the lead vocal or lead instrument to a volume we are comfortable with, then we add the rest of the sounds.

The point is we want most of our sounds in the back-ground and some in the front, most sounds that should be in the front is kicks snare lead vocal or lead instrument, the louder you make it the more you push it up front (try not to make sounds too loud because it will over power the mix, just keep it balanced at the same time). the sounds that mostly be in the back ground are usually hi-hats, pads, some rhythm instruments. It all depends on the genre of music. after you finish leveling your mix and do some panning, u can start mixing after your done use a limiter to make your music louder and push the volume up to -1.0db. I hope u enjoy my first blog, it will get better promise. THANK YOU!!!!
